Today is the second anniversary of my father being called home.
It's an emotional day for me as Dad was my strength here on earth.
He gave me incredible insight to the beauty of Gods world and I didn't even know it at that time.
I would like to share with you bit about my dad
When I was four we lived in Baden Baden Germany. The airbase we lived on was on the outer edge of the Black forest.
My father would always take me out fairy hunting in the mornings.
The dew was on the grass and I recall the forest being so quiet except for the sound of our footsteps.
Dad would say "You have to be very quiet and sneak up on the toadstools if you want to see the fairies come out in the morning."
So hand in hand we would sneak up but as always I would say something and scare the fairies away.
To this day I still look.
One Fall day as we were searching through the forest, the leaves were falling all around us.
The colours were so beautiful. When we got back home Dad put on his favourite piece of music.
Cast your Fate to the Wind.
He asked me to close my eyes and remember the leaves falling and then he said
"Can you see them dancing in the wind?"
I could so vividly and I still can.
I often say to people look around you can you see the music?
I know now it was the music of God in everything we see.
The one thing that has stuck with me all of my life is this quote from my Dad
"Maureen Love someone for all that they are not, and they will give you all that they are in return and that will more than enough"
So today I am grateful for the wisdom, the imagination, the sight of music, and the strength that God gave my father to pass on to his children.
Thankyou Father God for choosing the perfect earthly father to raise me.
If you look close enough you will see the fairies. Shhhhhh
